Post Namesake

MYERS-PRESCOTT-OLSON Post 50. Named in honor of William Myers, the first Antrim soldier killed in France on July 18,1918. After WWII it was rechartered to also honor Paul Prescott who was killed in a bombing raid over Germany on June 7, 1943.In 1953 it was rechartered again to honor Leland Olson, killed in Korea in March 1951

Donald L. Paige - 50 year member & Post Adjutant from 1973 to 2017, for 44 continuous years.

Donald L. Paige - Awarded Legionnaire of the Year at the Deptartment convention, at Manchester NH , June 2018.

He was awarded this distinction for his 52 years continopus membership, 45 as the Post Adjutant. He is actively involved in all aspects of the Post operation, from organizing the Color Guard, Parades, Funeral details, cleaning weapons, ordering ammo & flags,  ordering certificates for the Middle School Legion award, Oratorical contests, Boy Scouts. He orders & monitors fuel for the heating of the hall, helps shovel snow, and any and all activities necessary to keep the Post viable. He epitimizes what the Legion is all about with his above and beyond dedication to the Legion and its members. 

What Makes this Post Unique

It is a small post of 72 members, but very active with monthly meetings, and make their presence felt in the community by helping veterans in need, sponsoring the local Boy Scout Troop 2, presenting the American Legion School award each year to an eighth grade student, sponsoring a junior oratorical contestant, and school Americanism programs. They also have a color guard & firing detail for military funerals & parades. They participate in Memorial Day parades in 3 towns, & a Veterans Day parade.
