The Post does not have a namesake. In 1919 the Post was started. In Indianapolis, 14 September 1920, the charter was counter signed by the Commander and Adjutant of the Department of MT in Helena on 24 September 1920. Elliot Porter was the first Commander. The members of Post 15 were deployed during WWII with D Co of the 163rd, where they were till the end of the war.
