2. It was voted on that the Post shall be known as Chanhassen American Legion Post 580.
What Makes this Post Unique
On February 2nd 1952 a group of former service men got together for the purpose of forming an American Legion Post in Chanhassen, MN and laid the groundwork for our Post. They stuck together and through the years formed what is now a mortgage free facility which is operating in the black. Quite a journey from meeting in restaurants to rented buildings and finally a home of our own. We have grown from 16 members in the beginning to a membership of 391 Legionaries at the present time.
