Notable Members
Daniel F. Foley was elected as our National Commander on September 9, 1963.He remained a continuous member of Post 50. Harold "Butch" Miller was elected as our National Commander on September 10, 1998. Butch joined the American Legion at Wabasha Post 50, but move away later in life, his family remains in Wabasha. The Post has a Ladies Auxiliary and SAL Squadron.
What Makes this Post Unique
We have had two Past National Commanders that started their careers in Wabasha. Post 50 resides in the oldest city in the state of Minnesota, located on the Mississippi River about 3 miles south of Lake Pepin. Wabasha is the home of the National Eagle Center. Our Post had a number of locations where our meeting were held. The last building we owned was located on 155 Pembroke Avenue. On September 30, 2015 ceased operation at that location and now hold our meetings at Wabasha VFW Post 4086 on located 2nd Street in Wabasha. Our membership includes a number of local and distant veterans of many scopes of work.
