PVT. Vincent F. Picard - The son of Frank and Hannah (King) Picard, Vincent was born in Northborough on 25 July 1895. He was mustered into service on 5 October, 1917, at Camp Devens, MA. Shortly after April 1918, he embarked for France. He was attached to Company F, 327th Infantry Regt, 82nd Division. Late on the afternoon of 9 October 1918, while in action at the Battle of the Argonne Forest, he was hit in the abdomen by shrapnel from an exploding shell and died later that day after being evacuated to an aid station.

Nov 1, 1919 Post 234 was originally chartered as Post 230 on 1 November 1919. On 1 October 1920 it assumed the designation of Post 234 due to an error in sequential numbering.
