Post 160 the beginning

The first group to meet that led to the organization of Post No. 160 was a group of World War I Veterans that had served in France. That meeting, which was for the purpose of Memorial Day planning, was held on May 12th, 1919 and was at the State Armory on Park Street in Adams. Starting in 1933 with the original dedication and every year after with few exceptions, Past Commanders of American Legion Post 160 and guests have made their annual trip to Mount Greylock to conduct a ceremony to honor fallen Veterans.
