Post 3 has been a significant part of Rapides Parish, and the City of Alexandria since its charter in 1921, Today the City Court Building on Franklin St was once a Post home, it was donated to the city when the Post acquired the property and home of the Kent Plantation. In 1964 the Post donated the Kent house to the Rapidies Parish Historical Society. The house was moved to it's present location on Rapides Ave, and is a popular visitors cite. Post 3 Donates annually 30k to the community, from it's fund raisers
