(The renaming of the post was adopted at the first meeting following the death of Carroll S. Myler) First Commander was Carroll S. Myler In June of 1966 meetings were held in the Andover High School (now Cottonwood Elementary School) on the West side of Andover Road. A quonset hut served as the first official post building. It was originally a small factory for making eye glass frames and was later converted to a maintenance shop for trucks before being refurbished as a post home. The post meetings were moved from the school to the quonset hut in 1968. A new post home building was completed and occupied in May 2007, on the same property adjacent to the quonset hut. Construction of the post interior was accomplished by a number of members, with the majority being completed through the efforts of three individuals, Ralph Seery, William E. Smith and Edward L. Carr. The post building was sold in 2014 and meetings are currently held in the Andover Senior Center. Post members volunteer to make a community wide breakfast the fourth Saturday of each month at the Senior Center.
