Wayne G. Austin, the first Harvey County veterans killed in WW I. He was born July 19, 1897 and killed at the battle of Ballena Woods on June 6, 1918. He was 20 years 10 months and 19 days old and is buried at an American Cemetery in Aisne river, Torey, France.
