About This Post

Post Namesake
The Post was named after Frank Ray who was killed by an artillery round while guarding a captured German ammo dump in World War I.
What Makes this Post Unique
All 35 of the original charter members were World War I veterans. Meetings were held in borrowed facilities for the first several years before the present Legion building was purchased in the 1930’s for $700. Meetings were held upstairs and the ground floor was rented to the drug store. In 1970, the ground floor was remodeled for the Legion Hall. In 1980, the Post started the Avenue of Flags at the cemeteries on Memorial Day. That year, 30 burial flags were displayed. Today, approximately 70 veterans of World War II, Korean Conflict, Vietnam Conflict, Desert Storm, Operation Iraq Freedom and Enduring Freedom are members of Ray Post 376. On Memorial Day, we now display approximately 90 burial flags.
