Candy Gann - First Female Post 138 Commander. Mrs. Gann received an award from the State Of Illinois as one of 200 notable veterans in Illinois. She served in the U.S. Army for twenty years before retiring.

What Makes this Post Unique

Scott Wike Lucas was born in Chandlerville, Illinois. Mr. Lucas served in the U.S. Army during World War I, being promoted from a private to a Leiutenant during his service to the country. Mr. Lucas became a lawyer serving Mason County as it’s States Attorney. He was the very first Commander of Post 138 of Havana, Illinois. Mr. Lucas became an American Legion State Commander of Illinois in 1926. He went on to become a U.S. Congressman (1935 - 1939) and a U.S. Senator (1939 - 1951).
