Gordon M. Crothers: Corporal Gordon M. Crothers' parents relocated from Michigan to Dade City, FL.  Gordon was the first soldier to be killed in action during World War I with Dade City ties.  Gordon along with his brother were both Corporals in Company-M, 126th infantry, 32nd Division in the allied effort to hurl Hun from France.   

There were 28 original members who had signed the charter application dated June 7th 1919. They were: Robert B. Sturkie, W.W. Huckabay, Stanley Cochrane, W.E. Cochrane, Fred V. Hetherington, Walter Hargraves, Clyde R. Hargraves, Cicil B. Wright, W.C. Autrey, Charles B. Hermeling, W.A. Sparkman, G.J. Fountain, Frank D. Ruth, Hugh Johnson, Edwin S. Dew, B.C. Goldsby, D.T. Revels, and James Ward.
