Manchester WWI Vets apply for Charter with The American Legion

In August 1924, a group of local Manchester World War One veterans came together to apply for a Charter with the American Legion, choosing number 102 to be in conjunction with the National Guard Infantry 102 that supported the Yankee Division during World War One.

Post Home Commisioned

After several years of construction, the Post Home was finally constructed off of Main Street in Manchester on Leonard Street, roughly a half a block from the Manchester Armory which housed the 102nd Infantry.

Post Charter Amended

Aug 1, 1947
In 1947 The American Legion Post 102 requested for the additional name of Mario Quey to be added to the Name of the Post. In honor of Mario Quey a gunner in the United States Navy who was killed in the defense of the Philippines, at the Battle of Corregidor.
