A landmark disappears as the home for American Legion activities since 1944 is gutted and remodeled into an apartment building. After many months of discussion, the Juneau Post 15 found it impractical to keep the building in repair and sold it to Darryl Schwantes who is turning it into apartments.

Juneau American Legion Post 15 has its own building again. Closing on the Legion's purchase of the building at 162 E. Oak St, in Juneau took place Friday at the Valley Bank of Juneau.
