Post # 187 Commander Dan Chandler became the first recipient of the EANGUS Patriotism Award at a National Conference being held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 15 August 2007. He was selected from Enlisted troops of all 50 states and U.S. Territories. The Award was presented on behalf of the members of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States. CMSgt Frank Lever III of South Carolina and President of the Association made the presentation. There were over 1,500 attending the event. Chandler retired in September 2005 after 39 years, 6 months of service. He is a lifetime member of EANGUS.
