On August 18, Stevens-Chute Post 4 Commander William Chan and Adjutant Lara Chan were guests at the American Legion National Convention Color Guard contest. The event had various Posts and Sons of the American Legion personnel from around the 55 Departments compete in various categories. American Legion Newport Harbor Post 291 in California swept all the categories in the competition. Newport Harbor Post 291 repeated as National Commander's Color Guard.
