Lawrence Roy has played an important role in Post 129 history. He is a 62 year member of the American Legion and a Korean War veteran. For 20 years he has served as Post 129 Adjutant and Chaired the Baseball Committee until 2013. Lawrence has served as Post 129 Commander three times an was Oklahoma State Commander of the Legion in 1988-89. In 1992, he was elected American Legion Vice Commander of 14 southern states for the National American Legion. Lawrence was also the only Oklahoman serving on the National American Legion Executive Committee. Lawrence retied as Brigadier General from the Oklahoma National Guard in 1988. Lawrence has been a key member of the Post activities, including communications, membership, meetings, and especially the management of the Stilwater American Legion building at 607 S. Main.
