The American Legion Post 460 was founded on November 11, 1919 and re-organized in 2012. The men and women of The American Legion Post 460 are composed of members who have served in the United States Armed Forces, and who have or are currently serving in the New York City Police Department, as well as other Law Enforcement Agencies in the State of New York and Military Police. The Executive Board has developed programs to help veterans transition back to civilian life. The board has created three areas of focus: Veteran Building Skills, Family Involvement and Community Involvement. The funds raised through sponsorship and donations will be utilized to administer these various programs.

On Thursday, July 11, 2019 we will be holding our seventh annual Independence Day Military Ball / Centennial celebration fundraising event. We will have approximately 400 veterans/law enforcement in attendance with their family and friends. The goal is to raise funds for two of our programs: Veteran Building Skills and Family Involvement, which bridges the gap between veterans, families, and their community for a healthy transition to civilian life. The basis of Veteran Building Skills is to give veterans the needed period of adjustment to reconnect with others through individual or small group mentoring and counseling, social gatherings, hands on workshops and integrative programs like sport activities and informational seminars. The Family Involvement Program's goal is to support veterans reconnect with their family through the following activities: sports, family social events and interactive workshops, such as photography and the arts.

We are asking for your support by making donatios of products that we can raffle at our Independence Day Military Ball/Centennial Celebration. As a token of our appreciation, your contribution will be acknowledged on the day of the event and on our website's Sponsors link. Your donation(s) will help us, American Legion Post 460, reach our goals to expand our programs, and we know that with your support we can fund the Veteran Building Skills/ Family Involvement Programs and the volunteer workforce needed to make the initiative a reality. It is essential to the well-being of veterans and their families that we succeed. We hope that you will consider making this success possible with a generous- and much appreciated- donation

Thank you
