Post Namesake
The Post was named in honor of Gene Daniels who was killed in action while crossing the Rhine River as a member of the U.S. Army and Abe Shafer III who died on active duty at Great Lakes Naval Base.

Post 445 Holds First Ever Tractor Cruise

On June 3, 2017, Daniels - Shafer Post 445 held its first annual Tractor Cruise. The cruise was designed to boost membership, garner support for the VA service dog program, and start a group that would serve as a "little brother" to The American Legion Riders when members get too old to safely operate a motorcycle. A total of 22 tractors participated in the event and Post 445 garnered five new members and 12 applications..
