Post 287 once again held the annual Memorial Day Parade/Ceremony. This year there was no guest speaker. Instead, after the ceremony at the cemetery, everyone was invited back to the downtown Square where a dedication was to take place. The dedication was for a new, black marble stone dedicated to our area First Responders and Veterans. The Memorial Day Parade started from the downtown area. The route was the classic 4 blocks down 4th street to Flanders Field at the Savannah Cemetery. The Chief of Police led the procession followed by the Post 287 Honor Guard, Military Jeep, Savannah High School Drum Corps, American Legion Riders, Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts.
