In 1988 there were several posts in the Fifth District that voted to retire their charters and banners and merge with Theodor Petersen Post 1. Those posts were Laidlaw 208; Wenell 233; Mill City 459; Navy-Marine 472; and Paul Revere 624. The next year the combined members were contacted by mail to ask for imput on a new name. The name with the highist votes came up as: Minneapolis Post One. At the first meeting of the merged membership Delbert R Rose was the first elected Commander of Minneapolis Post One. We stilll carried on the choice of The Red Banner. To the memory of this Historian it has been to alll of the National Conventions since that time thanks to John P Nelson.

With the new Post membership Post One has continued to be a front row Post for the Fifth District and the Department of Minnesota. Post One has a great Rifle Squad which is called upon for dedications, funerals, presentattions of the American Flag at school classes.
