What Makes this Post Unique

American Legion Post 541 was started by World War I Veterans who came from the Edison Park Community in Chicago, IL. Although they started the post in 1920 it was not given a Charter until 1925.

The Charter was sign in Bloomington giving Edison Park Post 541 it's own Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Squadron.

Sons of American Legion Squadron 541 established

Sons of the American Legion Squadron organized

The first organizatioanl meeting took place in the Edison Park Field house at 7 p.m. for the purpose of electing a new Commander and adjutant.

Commander Joseph Moore and Adjutant Duel Member Robert Fuggiti were the first two officers elected. Current Post 541 Commander Dale Smith was named adviser for the squadron.  The offical Charter was presented in January 2018.
