American Legion Post 245 in State College, Pa., held its 100th Anniversary event on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019. The family-friendly celebration held lots of activities such as panning for gold, BB gun shooting, a parade, silent auction, and bucket rides on a fire truck. Representatives of military branches and veterans’ organizations provided information and displayed military, hardware including a jet engine.
Nearly 60 historic American flags were flown on the Legion’s property for the occasion.
A catered dinner for the community and all-day music from local artists completed the well-attended event.
The Anniversary Committee chairman are Robert McCool, Larry Hess and Chris Solo. Richard Seifert is Post 245 commander.
