In June of 2016 the "The Wall that Heals" was hosted in Bristol on Memorial BLVD at the same site another Wall visited in 1998. This year it was hosted by the American legion, Post 2 with the help of many. While the wall was here Post 2 was asked to take charge of the items left at the wall and ask if we could display them. They ask if we could for they felt that other wise the items would land up in some warehouse never to see light again. The Post lacked a space for it but due to the work Post 2 has been doing with the Bristol Public library they agreed to help. They supplied a glass show case in the main lobby. About the time the Wall arrived in Bristol the Library signed up for a National Vietnam War Commemoration. They have asked the Post to use the display for their part in the Commemoration which the Post agreed to. The post is looking into raising funds to purchase a showcase and latter next year move it to the Veteran Strong Center in Bristol at City Hall. Formly known as the Army Strong Center up till the Army back out of the centers. The Post is helping to keep the Center open.
