Vernon Grosenick, a member of American Legion Post 15, Juneau, was elected as a National Vice Commander of the American Legion at the 1994 annual national convention held in Minneapolis, MI, September 4-8.

Grosenick entered the US Navy on November 9, 1944 and served on the USS Pennsylvania in the South Pacific during World War II.

He and his wife Mavis are retired from the restaurant-tavern business they owned and now reside in Dakota, WI. They have three children, Tom, Gerry and Larry.

Grosenick has been active on all levels of the organizations, having served as commander of Post 15, Dodge County and the Second District, as a State Vice Commander, and was elected Wisconsin State Commander in the 1971 State Convention in Wausau. He served as a member or chaired most state standing committees, including finance, policy, Badger Legionnaire-public relations, convention and activities, etc.

Grosenick was elected National Committeeman for Wisconsin in 1972. He has also served on the national level of The American Legion as National Convention Commission Liaison, National Americansim Committee Vice Chairman and as a member and Vice Chairman of the National Trophies, Awards and Ceremonials Committee.
