In 1945 the Zillah and Orchardvale school districts consolidated and the Orchardvale school was closed. The Post bought the property in the summer of 1947. The old Post home had become too small after the end of WWII and many new members had joined. The property was sold to the Orchardvale Grange for $7,000.00 in 1951.
