Mathews Post 83 prepared the winning chili for the second year in a row at the 4th Annual Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad Chili Cook-Off held Saturday, Feb. 4th, taking Both Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice Awards. Not Pictured are Comrades: Charlie Brown, Jack Cranford, Charlotte Crist, Ray Fleisher, Hank Furniss, Ron Lambert, Wm. “Roney” Leitner, Tommy Lewis, Al Smith, Mary & Post Cmdr. Jim Warren. Post 83 and The Mathews Lions Club share in “Best Booth Display” honors this year and Post 83 additionally received $100 for selling the most tickets. Nearly 500 were in attendance.
