Area and District Commanders

December 9th we will be having our Department Executive Council Meeting (DEC).
Our first goal was to have 100% by December 31st. We are only one month away from that goal. Only 9 or 10 posts have more than 115 - 25 members to reach their goals. The Rest of the Post only lack 1-25 members of reaching their goals.

District Commanders you are the gears in this Organization to motivate them to succeed. Only Post Commanders and Adjutants can request or go online and get your Direct Mailing Systems lists (DMS) and Expired lists. I have found out that there are members in our community that want to belong locally to their home Posts but don't know you exist just down the street from their residences.

This is asking a lot: I am asking those Post's that only need 1 -25 Members would only take one evening for your Posts to meet, distribute names from you DMS and Expired Lists and visit our Veterans? Check on them that they are have care for Thanksgiving and Christmas. While you are there pick up their renewals ask them to join your post. How many have paid in your Post and just need that transfer from Department or National into your Post? How many of your Posts just need an event to get them out? (a suggestion for winter was Fly Tying, and Fly Fishing in the Spring) Sounds fun.

I have learned from you... that doing membership is the easiest hard thing I have ever done for The American Legion.
You have elected me into this membership position so I can learn to JUST ASK,,,

Now... I am JUST ASKING.... Area and District Commanders would you JUST ASK your Post Commanders to JUST ASK their members that have not re-newed to renew, transfer, or join?

We are so close but 2% - 4% additions to our membership per membership report will not make our end of year goal quota. We need the next 4 weeks to be the biggest Membership drive we can give. Only you can motivate your Posts, Districts, and Areas to feel the victory of this run and the over all success of that effort for our great organization. Thank you for all you do.

Have a Great Thanksgiving and Drive Safe this weekend.
