The National Commanders project for this year is the National Emergency Fund (NEF).
Comrades; Area Commanders, District Commanders, Post Commanders
Commander Dellinger's focus has been Emergency Relief since Sandy Hurricane Disaster, Mid West Tornadoes, and the Colorado Floods. He would like to raise a million dollars during his term as National Commander for the national relief efforts already under way and ongoing events as well for future disasters.
He is asking for donations of .50 cents per member as his goal.
As the Department Commander of Utah I am asking that we as a Department support Commander Dillenger's National Goal. To accomplish this we need every member, Auxiliary, Sons of The American Legion and Legion Riders support. To attain this request we will need to donate .50 cents time’s 7361 members. That would equate to $3680.50 for a Department Goal to donate at National.
I realize having served as a Post Commander that this requires sacrifice when we have small membership and not enough membership to support our small budget already.
What I am asking is that "if" you can and "if" your posts can give what they can and our larger Post of excess can donate to the maximum of your generosity we can and will meet that goal.
Commander Dillenger's Project is worthwhile. As a Legion Family supporting a National request I am asking for your support to give what ever you can to make our Department goal of $3680.50.

Posts, Districts, Area Commanders and individuals can personally present donations at Area Conferences, District Conferences and Department Executive Meetings (DEC).
