Initial Meeting to establish a Veterans and Local Community Organizations coalition network. The goal is to have good contacts of the local assistance available for Veterans in Stewart and Houston TN Counties
TO: Veterans Service Organizations, Health Care Providers,and Support Organizations in Stewart and Houston Counties.
SUBJECT: Establishment of the Stewart and Houston Counties Veterans Coalition
1. Tennessee is home to more than 525,000 Veterans. Of those 1,973 reside in Stewart County and 940 reside in Houston County (According to the latest Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs report). Navigating the challenges of health care, family counseling, employment opportunities, and financial assistance can be challenging for those who reside in our rural communities.
2. In an attempt to establish a Veterans Network of assistance within the Stewart and Houston Communities, Dover Post 72 will be hosting the initial Bi-County Veterans Coalition Meeting.
3. Date: Tuesday, September 8, 2015
Time: 7-9 p.m. (Please arrive NLT 6:45 pm so we can start the meeting on time. Bring
any information from your organization you would like to share with the group.)
Location: Stewart Co Visitors Center. (Next to the Dover Elementary School off Hwy 79).
4. Please share this information with any organizations that may offer assistance. Many organizations participating in the coalition equals a greater and more timely response to those in need.
