In 1993, Gary Cushing and his wife donated the old Red Owl Grocery Store building to the post and work began on remodeling it to make it into a post home and a community center.
Much credit should be given to members Harold Nipe, Robert Harding and Norman Eckhoff for their foresight in securing the property and for the endless hours of work put into removing all the old store fixtures and installing a complete new kitchen. A stage area was built which provides excellent facilities to conduct meetings, auctions and programs. While these three men devoted many hours of time, many others helped whenever possible.
