The front of the hall was concrete blocks. They were deteriorating so bad that something had to be done with them. It was suggested to just replace the blocks that were really bad. However, no one knew how the blocks were installed on the front of the building. We had two contractors come look at the hall and they determined the blocks had steel rods going through the blocks to hold them in place. So, the option of replacing the bad blocks were removed off the table. Another contractor suggested we cover the blocks with foam. This would seal the blocks from the weather and give use a new look in the front. So, we decided on doing this foam installation to the blocks. They installed 2" foam around the blocks and spray painted the foam with a navy blue color. This covered two glass block windows in the front that were never used and gave the building a brand new look. The cost of this repair was around $5000.
