The Gingrich-Dixon Post #13 of the American Legion was formed in May 1919. For 62 years (1944-2006), the Post’s home was the Start Township Hall at the corner of First and Montana Streets in Wakonda. A fire destroyed this hall in October 2006. A new hall was built on same site in 2007.
