Post 58: Stayton, Oregon

Start Time:
0830

Location:
South West industrial area of Albany, Oregon that is used as an assembly point for the parade floats, marching bands, etc.

Agenda:
We will assemble at the Stayton Park & Ride, and then carpool to the Albany staging area for floats and parade entries.

This is the largest Veteran's Day parade west of the Mississippi River in the United States. We have been participating in this parade for a number of years, and intend to continue as long as we can. Our float is a hay trailer belonging to a Post member. For parades we add painted siderails that has holders for about 12 flags and banners. There is a large front upright 4'x8' poster/signboard that was made for us by the inmates of the Oregon State Penetentiary Veteran's Association. We have chairs onboard the float for about a dozen or more of our members or guests to ride the float in the parade. Our Adjutant provides the parade's organizers with information about our Post and our activities that is read over the event's PA system as we pass by and honors are rendered to our colors as we pass by.
