Temporary Charter

May 22, 1975
In the spring of 1975, District 1 Commander Holly Nunnenkamp asked Ed Nylund to help form an American Legion Post in Aloha. Later that spring Department Commander Ed Stack, Department Adjutant Ron Dreezen, and District 1 Commander Holly Nunnenkamp held a public meeting at the I.O.O.F. Hall in Aloha. October 26, 1975 was the first installation of permanent officers for Aloha Post 104. They held installation at the Aloha Grange on 185th and Alexander. The first Commander was Ed Nylund and the first Adjutant was Bob Lanyon. On May 7, we held a combined Crab Feed with the Sherwood Post. We split the profit with the Sherwood Post, and still made a profit of $202. Poppy Sales

The Auxiliary held a Poppy-Popping party at Ginger Perkin's residence on May 19th. Margie Dwyer, Junior Miss Poppy, assisted. On May 19th, 20th, and 21st they distributed poppies. They received $163.93. The Junior Miss Poppy collected $23.02. Lucille Turner designed a cute little costume for our poppy girl. Leona Martin chaired the events.

Lee Perkins, chairman of Boys State, and members of the Post went to Aloha High School and selected four boys to attend Boys State at Monmouth, Oregon. Jun 9, members met at the Top Notch Tavern to play pool at the Vets Hospital. Jun 12, the Post challenged the Vets Hospital in a Mop & Broom Pool tournament. June 2, 78 - The Post Drill team reported on progress. The team consisted of Ben Martin, Lee Perkins, Leroy Long, Bob Lanyon, and Ed Nylund. They held practice at the Aloha High School.
