Meeting for the purpose of organization was called to order by Paul Creswell, temporary chairman. Charles Darlington was duly nominated and elected Post Commander. Nominations for Post Adjutant being next. Ohmer Tate was nominated. There being no further nominations, candidate Tate was elected.

The name of Joseph Foody and W.W. White were next presented as permanent names for the Post. The name of Joseph Foody was finally adopted.

The following delegates and alternates to the State convention were duly elected. Delegates: Ohmer Tate and Charles Darlington; Alternates: Paul Turnbull and Hivling Stokes. G. Hivling was appointed complaint officer of the Post.

There being no further business, the meeting was declared closed. Ohmer Tate Adjutant, Greene County Court House.

"Joseph Patrick Foody" - On Monday morning, May 26, 1918, Joseph P. Foody was one in a group of one hundred and eleven (111) men from Greene County who left for Camp Taylor, Kentucky. From Camp Taylor, Kentucky, our gallant Xenian entrained for Camp Beauregard, Louisianna. From there he set sail for France on August 5, 1918, and on September 15, 1918 went into action in the Argonne Forrest. While making a charge and going "over the top" with his outfit, Joseph P. Foody was instantly killed by a machine gun bullet on October 5,1918. He was the only Xenia lad who was killed in action in the war. The body was buried in the Commue of Gesnes, France, but later disinterred and placed in the American Cemetery, Romagne, Meuse-Argonne, France.
