On September 18, 1945, three strong-minded legionnaires of the Frank A. Johnson Post 758, namely Joseph Marhefka, John Barron and Thomas Wojciehowski, met at the Polish Community Home, with many veterans of the armed forces, for the purpose of organizing an American Legion in the community of the Town of Dickenson.
