Jamesburg American Legion Star Post 127 already had a monument in Veterans Park dedicated to those who participated in The Great War (WWI) and it was decided by the post to erect a new memorial to those local individuals who participated in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, The War on Terror and all other conflicts.
