Naming of the Post:

The American Legion of the Bickel-Nelson Post #360 of Cook, Nebraska was named for Charles Bickel and Clarence Nelson, veterans of WWI. It was originally chartered in January 1923, but the charter was canceled in 1927 due to inactivity. The Post was re-chartered in December 1948. Merle Riensche receives District Citizenship Award.

Merle Riensche of Cook Post 360 received the District 13 Citizenship Award at The American Legion Department Convention. He was unable to attend due to health reasons, his daughter, Barbara Washburn, graciously accepted the award on his behalf.
