Pictured here is a photo of 28 young men from Gretna who departed on October 3, 1917 for Camp Funston, located at Fort Riley, KS. The young men were trained as part of the 89th Division. The 89th was known as the "Rolling W" due to the patch containing a letter "W" enclosed in a circle as shown in the last photo.
