What Makes this Post Unique
Post 100 is unique due in part to the community spirit and support Post 100 offers to Syracuse and the surrounding area. Our dedicated Color Guard members provide military rites at the funerals of area Veterans. Each year Post 100 hosts area boys to the Boys State Program. We also provide college scholarships to boys and girls and financial support to our Legion Baseball program, Boy Scout Unit, Post-Prom activities, families of deployed service members and more. We have the support of a very active Auxiliary Unit and Sons of the American Legion Detachment who help us with many activities including the hosting of the Otoe County Fair Veterans Parade. Post 100 has provided financial support to help upgrade the public address system on Syracuse's Main Street which is used for parades and to support the communities Germanfest celebration and the holidays. The Post members along with the members of our VFW Post collaborated with our Auxiliaries and members to raise donate $25,000 to help build the new sports complex which resulted in the field that the Legion Baseball team plays on to be named Veterans Field.
