RESOLUTION.

WHEREAS, Nathan Boone had more to do with the advancement of Southwest Missouri than any of the earlier settlers, and

WHEREAS, Nathan Boone served his country in the United States Army, lived his declineing (verbatim) years in this vacinity(verbatim) , died and was buried at our very door, and

WHREAS, Nathan Boone’s memory is dear to all who know and understand his great influence upon this vacinity(verbatim), Greene County and the State of Missouri, and

WHEREAS it is the purpose of the AMERICAN LEGION to cherish the memory of all who served the flag, to render service to our community, to take part in and help preserve for posterity those things that may or might have a tendency to create a greater love for our God, our Home, and our Country,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by PAUL S. KILLINGSWORTH POST No. 307, AMERICAN LEGION, in regular session at Ash Grove, Missouri, September 15th 1931, that we pledge ourselves to use every and all honorable means to secure to posterity the grave and home of NATHAN BOONE and to that end shall petition the Legislature of the State of Missouri for proper legislation to make of the last residence of this noble pioneer, a STATE PARK of such dimensions and improved in such manner as will be fitting for his memory.
