American Legion Post 594 presented the Eagan Community Center with a new U.S. Flag to fly at the center entrance. The post will regularly replace the flag as it becomes weathered (unusable) as a donation to the City of Eagan, Shown raising the flag are Mike Sipper (Building Engineer, City of Eagan) and Tom Mullon (Post 594 Commander).

American Legion Post 594 and the Eagan Lioness Club partnered with the City of Eagan to erect and Tribute & Memorial Center to recognize our police, fire, and military service members. The Police Officer and Fire Fighter statues were dedicated on 10/14/2010. The Military statue was dedicated on 7/3/2001 during the Patriotic Day celebrated at the annual Eagan Funfest.

Wayne Beierman came forward to replace Tom Mullon as Post Adjutant / Finance Director, as Tom had requested to step down from these positions. Wayne's transition into these roles started on 10/6/16 and will continue for the next few months. Wayne was officially sworn in for these roles on 10/18/16.

Post 594 Votes to Sponsor Youth Baseball Team

At the 1/17/17 post meeting, guest Soren Agard spoke about youth baseball and asked for $500.00 to support registration of a junior team (16 year-old players) into the American Legion program. After Soren finished the discussion, and answered any questions, he left the meeting. A motion was made and seconded to vote on his request and it passed unanimously. A $500.00 donation will be made to get the Eagan team into the Legion program.

This past Monday, Eagan American Legion Post 594 hosted a multi-post get-together at Granite City. This is the first time that the area post leaders got together to discuss broader county-wide initiatives and on how we can support each other’s efforts. Represented: Cannon Falls, South St. Paul, Apple Valley, Lakeville, Hastings, and Eagan.

Eagan Post 594 donated U.S Flags to the City of Eagan for service at the Community Center and Tribute Plaza. The flags were presented to Eagan Community Center Manager Marshall Grange. While we were there, the post also collected 24 unserviceable flags that had been dropped off in the newly installed collection box at the Community Center.

Open Door Super Bagging Event Successful

In July 2018 – The Eagan American Legion Post 594 Family was given a unique opportunity by the MN American Legion Department. At the 100th National Convention held this August in Minneapolis, the Department gave away 10,500, medal badges to the delegates. These are nearly exact replicas of the badge given to the delegates at the first American Legion convention in 1919, which was also held in Minneapolis.
