Post 139 sponsored the Veterans Day Service on the City Square November 11, 2014. Our speaker was Gene Hoesman 7th District Vice Commander Department of Indiana. He spoke on how important it is to make the public aware of how much the American Legion does to support America’s Veterans and how much we owe our veterans for our freedom. The history of America was made possible by men and women willing to serve, and sometimes give their lives, for our way of life. This is a job every generation of American’s have preformed and still continues today.
Following the Veterans Day service the Post held a free bean dinner. We always attract quite a crowd to our bean dinner.
