On October 3rd, 1919 a meeting was once again held at the Douglas County Courthouse. Reports of various activities of the new Douglas County Post were made. The Charter from the National Organization dated June 30, 1919 was presented as Douglas County Post 27.

Different bulletins from the State Organization were read and discussed.

A committee of 5 (five) was appointed to work with a citizens committee planning a home coming celebration. The opinion of the members present was to wear the uniform of service. A vote was taken and carried that members should wear the uniform to the home coming celebration on October 23, 1919.

The chairman announced that a meeting would be held on October 10, 1919 to elect a delegate and an alternate to represent Post 27 at the State convention in Peoria.
