Boys Scouts assist Legionnaires Place Flags at Veterans grave sites

The placement of US Flags in Westbrook's four cemeteries (Cypress, The two Revolution cemeteries in the center of Westbrook near the Riggio Bldg. and the Catholic cemetery on route 145) has become an annual event on the Wednesday prior to Memorial Day. Westbrook's Annual Memorial Day Parade will step off from the Riggio Building at 10 am sharp. Leading the Parade will be the Westbrook Fife and Drum, followed by town officials and veterans, the National Guard, the Elks, the Scouts (boys and girls), baseball leagues, Westbrook High School Band, Fire Department marchers and followed by all emergency vehicles.

The program was very successful for all 25 years. Post Senior team was the Zone 3 Champion 5 times, but never won the state. 68 Year Member Transfers to Post Everlasting

Robert H Post died April 9, 2016. He was a past post commander in the 50's and the Memorial Day Parade chairman in the 1950s and 60s. He will be remembered for all his participation with the town of Westbrook and veteran activities held at the Post, the Elks and all the Westbrook schools.
