First meeting to form an American Legion Post

Twenty eight Veterans gathered at the Meeker I.O.O.F. Hall with the intention of forming a Meeker Post of the American Legion. V.C. Moulton was elected Commander with the following slate of officers: Vice Commander: Vern Phelps, Treasurer: W.J. Cunningham, Adjutant: R.G. Lytle, Historian: E.L. Cunningham, Chaplain: Fred Miller, Sargent at Arms: Chas. Marshal. A committee was formed to produce the Constitution and by-laws. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned with the agreement..
